BOYSEN Acqua Epoxy Acrylic Water-based Epoxy Paint

BOYSEN®® Acqua Epoxy™ Acrylic Water-based Epoxy Paint

BOYSEN®® Acqua Epoxy™ is a two-component water-based acrylic epoxy paint that has superior solvent, chemical, and stain resistance. It is ideal for concrete floors and properly primed metal surfaces. It has the advantages of easier application and better weather resistance properties.
B‑2910 serves as a Curing Agent designed to be compounded with Acqua Epoxy.

FEATURES

Better Exterior Durability

The acrylic nature of BOYSEN®® Acqua Epoxy™ gives it better gloss retention and resistance to ultraviolet rays.

Outstanding Abrasion Resistance

It can withstand foot and light vehicular traffic.

Longer Pot Life

Pot life extends beyond 8 hours that can simplify contractor schedules and provide cost savings from wasted, unusable catalyzed paint.

Chemical Resistant

It resists stains, solvents, and low concentrations of acid and alkali.

Excellent Brushability & Easy Water Clean-up

It does not require thinners and solvent reducers. It is easier to apply than conventional solvent-based finishes.

Low-odor

Ideal for painting in enclosed areas without the need to relocate personnel. Being water-based, it is also non-flammable.

SURFACE PREPARATION

Concrete Flooring

Remove oil and grease by using detergents or degreasers. Painting over a roughened concrete floor is recommended to improve adhesion of succeeding coats.

Metal Surfaces

Wipe the surface with a rag soaked in paint thinner to remove grease, oil, wax and other foreign matter. For new galvanized surfaces, etch the surface by applying 10% BOYSEN®® Metal Etching Solution B‑71 (Dilute 1 part of B‑71 to 9 parts water). Rinse with water and dry immediately.
Unpainted galvanized surfaces that have been exposed for 6 months or more need not be etched.
Treat rusted steel by sanding and wire brushing. Use BOYSEN®® Metal Etching Solution B‑71 on remaining rust. Let it stay for 10-15 minutes. Be sure to remove all remaining residue. Immediately prime after drying.

PAINTING SCHEDULE

Concrete Flooring

Mix 3 parts of BOYSEN®® Epoxy Primer White B‑2200 to 1 part of its catalyst. Allow 20 minutes induction time then thin the prepared mixture with BOYSEN®® Epoxy Reducer B‑55 in a 1:1 ratio. Apply as primer coating on bare concrete. Let dry overnight.

Mix 4 parts BOYSEN®® Acqua Epoxy™ and 1 part of its catalyst. Allow 20 minutes induction time. Mixture may gel if not used within 24 hours. Apply 2-3 coats as topcoat, allowing for at least 4 hours between coats. For best results, recoating should be done overnight.

Metal Surfaces

Prime bare metal using BOYSEN®® Epoxy Primer Red Oxide B‑2277. Let dry for 8 hours before recoating. Finish with 2-3 coats of BOYSEN®® Acqua Epoxy™. Let dry for 4 hours before recoating.

Note: Foot traffic abrasion resistance fully develops after 3 days of curing. For heavy-duty application, allow 7 days of drying.
