BOYSEN®® Automotive Lacquer B‑1300

BOYSEN®® Automotive Lacquer is a nitrocellulose, solvent-based, high-gloss lacquer type paint that is easy to apply and dries rapidly to a durable, attractive finish.

SURFACE PREPARATION

For pre-painted galvanized surfaces:

Sand lightly then wipe the surface with a clean rag before applying paint. Remove all loose paint film to sound surface. Spot prime bare substrate.

For corroded galvanized surfaces:

Remove rust by wire brushing and use BOYSEN®® Metal Etching Solution B‑71. Let it stay for 10-15 minutes before washing with water.

Be sure to remove all remaining residue and dry completely. Solvent wipe then prime immediately.

PAINTING SCHEDULE

Primer for bare substrate:
BOYSEN®® Epoxy Primer Red Oxide B‑2277 or BOYSEN®® Epoxy Primer Gray B‑2230

Topcoat:
BOYSEN®® Automotive Lacquer (in required number of coats)

NOTES

Check paint compatibility of the existing paint film to the desired new paint.

For thinning solvent, use only BOYSEN®® Epoxy Reducer B‑55 for primer and BOYSEN®® Lacquer Thinner B‑50 for topcoat.

Immediately apply primer after surface preparation to avoid occurrence of flash rusting.

Application of topcoat should be done within 7 days after priming to ensure good intercoat adhesion, otherwise re-application of primer is needed.

If necessary, add approximately 10% by volume of BOYSEN®® Lacquer Flo B‑1205 to the ready-to-use topcoat mixture.

* For site-mixing pastel to medium hues, use only BOYSEN®® Automotive Lacquer Tinting Colors. For darker shades, you may request for factory-mixed colors by visiting accredited BOYSEN®® dealers near or within your area.

* For technical reasons connected with color reproduction in print and paint manufacturing, these colors may not exactly match actual paint color.
