SURFACE PREPARATION

Metal Surfaces

Wipe the surface with a rag soaked in paint thinner to remove grease, oil, wax and other foreign matter. For new galvanized surfaces, etch the surface by applying 10% BOYSEN®® Metal Etching Solution B‑71 (Dilute 1 part of B‑71 to 9 parts water). Rinse with water and dry immediately.
Unpainted galvanized surfaces that have been exposed for 6 months or more need not be etched.
Treat rusted steel by sanding and wire brushing. Use BOYSEN®® Metal Etching Solution B‑71 on remaining rust. Let it stay for 10-15 minutes. Be sure to remove all remaining residue.

PAINTING SCHEDULE

Apply 2-3 coats of BOYSEN®® Heat Resisting Aluminum Paint B‑95 on bare substrate. Wait for first coat to dry upon reaching peak temperatures before applying the succeeding coats.
